2026 Silver Birch nominee!
The Forest of Reading is Canada's largest recreational reading program! Children across Canada get to read and vote for their favourite books through their schools and libraries. What an amazing way to celebrate Canadian literature!
The best part about the 2026 program? Ghosts of Gastown is nominated for a Silver Birch award!

What does this mean? It means I will be one busy author over the next 7 months! I'll be doing class visits across Canada (mostly virtual, aside from the local ones), panels with the other nominees, and fun promotional events for dates such as I Read Canadian Day.
In May, I will be attending the Forest of Reading Festival in Toronto, Ontario! I'll be sitting on author panels, doing writing workshops with my fellow nominees, and author signings.
If you are a Canadian teacher, library worker, or homeschooler and would like more information about the program, check it out here. If you would like to book a class or library visit with me, please check out my Author Booking Service page.
Congratulations to all my fellow nominees! There are some awesome books in the program this year, and I am honoured that Ghosts of Gastown was selected alongside them.
